G66 UK has arrived - and I'm a part of it!

I'm now a part of the G66 family! Find out more and what this means for ZenRigs...

So here's the other 'thing' that's been keeping me busy... It's taken a lot of twists, turns and perseverance from everyone involved to get this off the ground but  I'm so excited to announce that I've now joined the wonderful folks at G66, the European distributors of Fractal Audio Systems gear, as the manager of the newly formed G66 UK! That's right, G66 now has a dedicated UK presence for all the good people of the UK!


So what does this mean for ZenRigs? I'm glad to say that it doesn't affect the ZenRigs business at all, which I'll run alongside G66 UK and will continue to operate as normal... in fact, better than normal, since I left my 'day job' and can now focus fully on these (much more) interesting endeavours. As my brain is now engaged on all things Fractal, it means I have more time to come up with cool solutions to benefit my fellow Fractal users.


As far as G66 UK goes - this is GREAT news for folks here in Britain. It means:


  • Faster shipping, direct from the UK
  • Faster service
  • Easier returns
  • No Customs fees or separate VAT payments to deal with
  • No currency conversion or currency fluctuations to worry about
  • The same great G66 service!


It's a thrill to be part of this wonderful group of people and I can't believe I now get to spend my entire day playing with Fractal gear! Erm, I mean, working, yes working with Fractal gear.

A day with Steve Vai

On a cold day in December 2012, I got to spend the day with Thomas Nordegg and Steve Vai. It was a hell of a day, and one that I'll remember until the proverbial bucket is kicked. I went home that night and wrote everything down to make sure I'd not forget, and am sharing that story with you here, including lots of back-stage pictures and side-stage gig footage, in this epic post. It's long, but I wanted to get it down in one go rather than serialise it, as it's all very interconnected. NOTE : This story was written waaaaay back in 2012, and things have changed since then. Steve ended up the using my solid ZenRigs magnetic glow-in-the-dark labelling system, 'KickTags' on his Fractal Audio MFC-101 and took then all over the world until the Axe-FX III replaced his old Axe-FX II based rig. This story is about my early 'hobby' version of the labels and how I got to know Steve and Thomas because of them . To this day, Thomas and Steve still use things I've made and I still look forward to meeting up every time they swing by the UK . I hope you enjoy the read! Onto the story...
